Counselling & EMDR therapy


This is a separate and complementary service to coaching. In counselling or psychological support we can work on a deeper level addressing issues that forbid us to flourish in our life. Counselling is a professional relationship  that supports the clients to (re)achieve metal health & wellness. This implies that this kind of services is accessed when the mental health is temporary or chronically affected.

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) Therapy is a powerful intervention that enables people to heal from the symptoms and emotional distress that are the result of disturbing life experiences.  Repeated studies show that by using EMDR therapy people can experience the benefits of psychotherapy that once took years to make a difference. It is widely assumed that severe emotional pain requires a long time to heal.  EMDR therapy shows that the mind can in fact heal from psychological trauma much as the body recovers from physical trauma. 

You can chose counselling and EMDR therapy when the situation bellow talks to you:

  • I am in a difficult period/situation due to some (unexpected) change in my life (relocation, divorce, parenthood, loss, health issues, new job/team/responsibilities)
  • I feel exhausted/stressed/confused/I do not sleep/eat well
  • I am losing my calm quickly and I have outbursts of anger in situations that usually would have not annoyed or frustrated me.
  • I am worried, I cannot sleep, I have panic attacks that I do not know how to handle (now mainly related to Covid19, but also unrelated)
  • I lost interest in many activities that before were making me feel good. I do not see much of sense or meaning in my life.
  • I have difficulties with some of my relationship: family (including significant others or after break ups), colleagues, bosses…
  • I have been through a very tough situation (an accident, harassment, loss of someone dear. war, near death experience etc) and I have difficulties to get over.
  • I have gut/digestion problems but medical doctors could not find anything significant and my life and work is affected.

If you wonder how long (how many sessions) are need it, the answer is: depends how long you need to recover and learn how to handle certain situations. The same like with medicaments, each person reacts differently to the treatment. Becoming autonomous, functional and recovering your life satisfaction and meaning is the purpose of the psychological support. You do not need to rush but also is not good to become dependent on the terapist.
